Jack M. wrote:- We set off from Hartington and were soon walking down Beresford dale. From there a gentle stroll upwards took us to Alstonfield for refreshments. Dropping down again we arrived at Milldale where most of us partook of an ice cream. After a brief shower we continued in dappled sunlight up the bottom end of Woolfscote Dale and finally up Biggin Dale back to Hartington. Afternoon tea and other refreshments were taken before returning home.
