Some went in the Robin Hood pub at Rainow after. 15 walkers enjoyed a very mixed weather day. The original plan of 10 miles was cut short due to access. I think about 9 miles. Walk Bleaklow 08/08/2021

Graham B. planned a walk from the Woodhead tunnel car park up onto Bleaklow moor whilst finding WW2 aircraft wrecks. Due to very heavy rain on the day and the day before every SWOG member messaged him to cancel. Graham dutifully went to the meeting place just in case some one was keen or foolish enough to do the walk. Some one was !!! Graham led a much less ambitious walk that day.

Walks Turton 01/08/2021

2 walks both starting from Turton

Helen n Harvey B. wrote :-

This walk is 13 miles long, following mostly the Witton Weavers Way, starting at Turton Tower, North West of Jumbles Reservoir, the highest point is Cheetham Close at 329 meters, we pass Delph Reservoir, Belmont Reservoir and round to Turton and Entwistle Reservoirs. 10am.

Jack M. wtote :-

As an alternative to the main walk, I will lead a shorter, more leisurely walk of about 7-8 miles. We will set off from the same place, walk along Jumbles Reservoir to Jumbles Country Park (coffees, ice cream and toilets available). We then continue along the reservoir and past Wayho Reservoir. After a lunch stop, we may take a short break at the famous Strawbury Duck pub. We then head back to Turton Towers where they do lovely cream teas if desired.
