Rushton Spencer Walk 17th February 2013

Rushton Spencer Walk.

Sunday's walk, 17th Feb.  Rushton Spencer to Wincle.  9.5 miles.

There were 18 walkers out this Sunday for a walk in the beautiful sunshine.  From the car park behind the Knott Inn we walked along footpaths leading eventually by the side of the River Dane.  We were very happy to come across the Wincle Brewery, a micro-brewery at Danebridge.

We were made very welcome, and we very much enjoyed being given a samples of  their beer, and some us bought flapjacks, again made by including the local beer. I am sure we will be visiting again.  After walking through Wincle, passing the Ship Inn, we followed footpaths back to the car park.

We did encounter one major problem though.  The MUD,  and  it was decided that this walk must hold the record for the muddiest group walk ever!  Dave's brand new boots, didn't stay clean very long.  But an enjoyable day nevertheless.

Thanks to Howard for being assistant map reader, and Jack for the photos.
