Walk Whaley Bridge 26/12/2018
Paul and Pam D. led a Boxing day walk from Whaley Bridge, Eccles Pike , the Paper Mill pub at Whitehough, Chinley. The Navigation pub at Buxworth Basin, return. 26 and 1 dog enjoyed a mild cool day.

At 20.30hrs 24/12/2018 Christmas eve some of the group enjoyed "Fool Hardy" beer in the Hope Micro brewery pub on the A6 just north of Mersey square.

Walk Hayfield Mulled wine 23/12/2018
John G. led a walk with mulled wine and mince pies. We set off from Hayfield anti clockwise around Kinder reservoir then up to the shooting cabin return. After the walk all went into the George Inn at Hayfield. 17 and 1 dog braved a grey drizzly day.

In a change to the published program. At Hazel Grove Civic Hall 20:00hrs 19/12/2018 Cary gave a talk with computer photo projector about the second section of his South to North walk. This was from the Severn bridge to Peebles.

Weekend Hartington YHA 14 to16/12/2018
John E. organised a weekend away and Christmas meal at Hartington YHA 14 to 16/12/2018.
Friday 14/12/2018 Jan & Mark led a walk from the hostel through Biggin, Wolfscote & Beresford dales, 12 members enjoyed an cold sunny day. Evening some ate in the hostel some at the Devonshire Arms.
Saturday John E. led a longer walk through Sheen to Longnor return 11.5 miles 19 members. Others did various shorter walks. The morning was cold and misty, the afternoon was windy with an ice storm with sleet freezing to ice on walls stiles and our clothing. Evening we had a Christmas meal in the Hostel.
Sunday John E. led a walk to Alsonefield return 6miles and on a misty cool day.

Nigel E. led a walk near Hebden Bridge. From Hepstonstall social and bowling club car park, N, Midgehole, N, Nook, W, Walshaw, E then S then E, Gibson Mill (tea and cake), S, Slack, E, return.

Mini pub crawl and meal 24/11/2018
Colin and Helen organised a Saturday evening mini pub crawl and meal in Manchester northern quarter.
Colin Wrote:- Nice little turn out for the mini pub crawl. Talking in Piccadilly tap, store street cask. Travis and Dale pub for the fine meal that every e enjoyed. Campbell said it was his best pizza he's had. The steak burger was cooked perfect. From there we went to bar republic brewery tap and the to northern monk refractory. Leeds base brewery.

Colin and Helen hosted a pub night 20:30hrs 23/11/2018 at the Remedy microbrewery Bar at Stockport Market Place. There was a lot of loud music and so by 21.30 we all decided to go to another nearby pub The Ardern Arms.

11/11/2018 Harvey and Helen led a walk from Barrow Bridge free car park NW Bolton. WNW Walker Fold, (We observed the memorial 2 minute silence) Wilders Moor, N on Winter Hill aerial access road, Summit then ESE, across A675 down to follow ESE Eagley Brook, W Horrocks Fold, Smith hills return to Barrow Bridge.
A grim rainy day at first which got better and was sunny at the end. 12 members plus Gina the dog enjoyed a 10 mile walk.

Fourteen members of the group
enjoyed a fairly leisurely walk around the periphery of Buxton. Starting from
Poole's Cavern car park, the group climbed to Solomon's Temple for views over
the town. After descending to a lunch stop by the River Wye, the walk continued
along the track of the former Cromford and High Peak Railway before descending
over Cavendish Golf Club and back into Buxton. Afternoon tea was taken in the
Pavilion Gardens tea room.
