John E. led a walk around Castleton Derbyshire.
Route: from the main car park in Castleton village we went past Peak Cavern SW then NW to Speedwell Cavern, Treak Cliff Cavern, Blue John Cavern. Up onto Rushup edge, Lords Seat, L Chapel Gate track across the B road at Coldwall Farm, SE Pennine Bridleway through Perryfoot to Eldon Lane end Farm, NNE to Watts Plantation then E to meet the Limestone Way then NE back to Castleton. We took refreshments in the Bulls Head pub.
Only 6 members braved a the cold, rain, wind, sleet, horizontal hail. There was snow, slush, very wet slippery grass and Limestone underfoot.

Annual General Meeting 22/11/2017
At Hazel Grove Civic Hall 20:00hrs. 22/11/2017, Harvey (chairman), Peter H. (secretary), ran SWOG AGM. Tracy brought home made scones. Some went into the Wilfrid Wood pub afterwards.

Walk Buxton 19/11/201

We parked near to the 19th Hole pub on Waterswallows Road and went E. along Green Lane, passed Waterswallows Quarry (basalt), through the middle of Tunstead works (limestone) quarry, then S. on Pennine bridleway dropping down into Cheedale. We went W. passing a disused quarry into Wyedale , then S. across A6, then SW. around Topley Pike quarry into Deepdale, lunch in a cave, then Backdale then Brierlowdale across A515. Then W. under a quarry rail line to the edge of Buxton quarry (limestone), then NW along a dismantled railway line next to Hillhead Quarry (limestone), then next to a disused quarry at Harpur hill. We zig zagged down to Grin Low road, then N. over Grin Low joining the A515 in Buxton. We stopped for a drink in the Wye Vale Inn (Weatherspoons) before returning to our parking spot. 17 members 12 miles.!

Chris & Janet H. led a linear walk from Greenfield to Padfield. The idea is to go to Manchester Piccadilly railway station and catch the train to Greenfield then walk over moors to Chew Reservoir, Tintwhistle, Padfield railway station then train back.
