We then dropped down into Wycoller to view the remains of the hall and the 18th century crook barn now used as the visitors centre, though some people decided to partake of the excellent tea rooms instead.
Once we got everyone together again we passed over the thousand year old clapper bridge before ascending Boulsworth Hill. Our descent took us into Trawden where we had a brief pub stop.
Despite an appalling weather forecast, apart from drizzle in the last half hour, we managed to keep reasonably dry.
