In addition to the published program Jack M. led a walk along the final section of the new Peak District Boundary walk.

As an extra to the published programme I organised a walk along the final section of the Peak District Boundary Walk. This is a new 190 mile long distance path around the edge of the national park. As I had helped to waymark this final section, I thought it would be a good idea to test out my markers. Sandra kindly volunteered to lead the walk.
We started in Whaley Bridge walked via Taxal and the two reservoirs before joining the old railway line near the top of Long Hill. On reaching the old tunnel we headed over the moors before dropping into Buxton via the golf course and the Pavilion Gardens. Most of us had a pub meal in 53 Degrees North before catching the bus back to Whaley.
A pleasant ten mile walk in excellent weather conditions. Many thanks to Sandra for leading the walk and testing out my way marking.

Walk Yorkshire Sculpture Park 20/08/2017
In a change to the published program Harvey led a walk around Yorkshire sculpture park, the walk was officially 10.7miles but we did more like 12 miles due to interesting detours.
Harvey wrote:- This turned out to be a very fruity walk, despite the inauspicious start of finding the Woodhead Pass closed, which is the direct route to Canon Hall in Barnsley from where we started. Fourteen of us set off along the river into the gently rolling countryside, after elevenses in the children's play area we climbed through the forest and along a south facing bank to find an abundance of sweet juicy blackberries, the first of many free treats, there were also sunflowers straining to face the sun.
We had lunch in the sculpture park by a silver water nymph before circling the lake and passing art works by Henry Moor, Barbara Hepworth and many others. As we left the park we had an unexpected encounter of a maize maze, the path passing right through the jungle of six foot plants, the farmer had planted, our final sweet surprise was a tree of sweet purple plums that we eagerly harvested before walking through the grounds of Canon Hall, that was built on the proceeds of iron.

This Sunday's walk started from Peak Forest with 15 members ready to enjoy a beautiful sunny day in the white peak. From the village, we walked to the top of Eldon Hill, visiting Eldon Hole en route. After a coffee stop at the summit, we continued northwards to reach the Winnats, where we enjoyed lunch on the edge while watching the traffic in the pass far below. We then dropped down via Treak Cliff and Speedwell caverns to Castleton, where we had another stop for refreshments in the village. The return route was by way of the long grid up Cave Dale and the Limestone Way.

A sunny day on the cloud
This Thursday, ten group members enjoyed a sunny walk led by Sue and Nigel. The walk started at Timbersbrook near Congleton and climbed to the top of Bosley Cloud where the group enjoyed extensive views over the Cheshire countryside. We then descended to the Dane valley for lunch before a brief stop for refreshments at the Knott Inn in Rushton Spencer. The return walk over fields and quiet lanes included a visit to the Bridestones, the remains of a Neolithic burial chamber. See photos of the group on the summit of Bosley Cloud.
