 At 19.30hrs 31/05/2023 Chris S. led a Thursday evening walk from Vernon Park E. along the river Goyt return. 18 members & 2 dogs enjoyed a dry sunny time.

Hawkshead YHA 26 to 29/05/2023

 Janet M. organised a hostel long bank holiday, self catering, dormitory weekend 26 to 29/05/2023 at Hawkshead YHA. 15 members. Local walks, a restaurant meal, pub visits, cycling. We enjoyed dry warm sunny weather along with the other tourists.

 SWOGs monthly trip to Stockport Market. Hosted by John H. meet in the Market hall listen to the band until 9pm then visit the Petersgate tap or other hostelry.

Walk Hayfield 24/05/2023

 Pam D. led a Wednesday evening walk from the Sportsman inn in Hayfield up the Snake path to the Shooting Cabin down to the Kinder Reservoir return . 20 members, 5 prospects and 1 dog enjoyed a warm sunny evening 3 miles. Some went into the Sportsman inn afterwards.

Jane W. led a Sunday walk from the centre of Lymm to Dunham Massey where some enjoyed an ice cream return. 19 members, 2 prospects, 1 dog enjoyed a warm sunny day, some went to the pub in Lymm afterwards.  9 miles.

Walk Parrs wood 17/05/2023

 Harvey& Helen B. led a Wednesday evening walk from near the Parrs Wood inn, through parks and passages, along the river Mersey return. Some went into the pub afterwards. 25 members and 3 prospects enjoyed a mild dry evening.

Walk Bleaklow 14/05/2023

John & Jackie T. led a Sunday walk over Bleaklow moor. From Old Glossop, E. up Lightside, Shelf Moor, N. Hern Stones, Wain Stones, S. Pennine way, W. Doctors Gate return. 15 members and 1 prospect enjoyed a sunny, warm, dry, clear day, 11 miles. We visited 2 aircraft wrecks.

 Jack M. led a Wednesday evening walk from Rosehill, S. along Middlewood way, E. Marple canal, W. back onto Middlewood way, return .25 members endured a rainy evening.

 

Walk Birchover 07/05/2023

Chris H. led a walk from Birchover the Anders stone and Doll Tor were not accessible, we found Cork Stone, Stanton north and south stone circles, 9 Ladies stone circle, Kingstone, Earl Gray tower, Cat stone, Birchover Millenium stone, Robin Hoods stride the Hermits cave, we could see but not access 4 giant standing stones and Castle ring earthwork. 10 members 1 prospect enjoyed a warm day 7.5 miles.

Pub Night Turners Vaults 05/05/2023

At 20.00hrs 05/05/2023 John H. hosted a pub night.Turners Vaults was closed so after trying The Swan with 2 Necks (which was rammed full of people) we assembled in the Boars Head in Stockport Marketplace.
