Graham B. led a Sunday walk from Crowden (no photos or stories yet)
Graham wrote:- This walk of 13 miles and 1800 ft of ascent starts at 10:00am from the car park at Crowden, postcode SK13 1HZ and Grid ref. SK 072 992. Black Hill (582m) is climbed first, starting on the path along Crowden Little Brook then on open moorland, hoping to find the crash site of two Gloster Meteors on the way. We then cross Holme Moss finding, with luck, more crash sites, pass the TV transmitter station, cross the A6024 road and go onto Twizle Head Moss looking for a B24 Liberator crash site. A gradual, undulating descent over Britland Edge Hill, Withens Edge and Dead Edge End takes us down to the Longdendale Trail, which we follow west back to Crowden.
Hoping all our members survive DEAD EDGE END
