Harvey & Helen B. led a walk from Rainow E. Lamaload resr. S. Chapel House farm, NW Tegs Nose CP. N. Gritstone Trail return. 11 members, 10 miles no wind and very foggy all day.

Walk Boxing day 26/12/2021
Peter & Sue H. led a Boxing day walk from Nelson Pit, through Lyme Park to Disley. Some went into the White Horse pub at lunch. Others concerned at the levels of covid returned early. After the pub the rest returned. 23 members 1 meetup prospect and 2 dogs enjoyed a cold grey day.

Elterwater Weekend 17 to 19/12/2021
Helen Claire Y. organised a Christmas Hostel weekend at Elterwater.
Fri 17th Jack led an afternoon walk from Windermere around Orrest Head with great views.
Friday evening some ate at the Brittannia Inn, some self catered at the hostel.
Sat 18th 2 walks both started from the hostel. Jack led anti clockwise around Loghrigg fell, Rydal, Grassmere, return 8 miles. Graham B. led a walk Dungeon Gill, Langdale Pikes Angle Tarn 10miles.
Saturday evening Hostel Christmas dinner drinks and dancing.
Sunday 19th Jack led a walk SE to Skelwith Bridge E Slater Bridge NE return 6 miles. A cold but very clear windless weekend with mists on the lakes.

Xmas meal cancelled 16/12/2021
16/12/2021 The Christmas meal at the Flying Coach pub at Hazel Grove had to be cancelled due to an outbreak of Covid virus among the pub staff.

Mulled wine walk 12/12/2021
John G. led the SWOG traditional mulled wine walk around Hayfield and moors south of Kinder reservoir, sharing mulled wine, chocolates, mince pies, redcurrant wine. Then afterwards John G. held court in the George pub. 23 SWOG members, 2 prospects and a very well behaved chocolate cocker spaniel enjoyed a drizzly morning followed by a fine windy afternoon.

Pub Night Queen Anne 10/12/2021
20.00hrs 10/12/2021 Chris H. hosted a pub night at the Queens Head at underbank Stockport. Samuel smiths beers are sold and are some of the cheapest in town. Also known locally as Turners Vaults and also The Queen Anne II head. This is thought to be the oldest pub in Stockport and has its own haunted room. It sits underneath a bridge that joins Petersgate to the Market . The ancient main roman road is just outside its front door.!

At Hazel Grove Civic Hall 20.00hrs 08/12/2021 SWOG had a talk with computer photo projector about the history and ongoing work of the Woodland Trust.

Graham B. led a longer walk targeting Aircraft wrecks on the moors starting from Glossop.
