Pub Night the Joshua Bradley 27/07/2018
Colin and Helen hosted a pub night 20:30hrs 27/07/2018 at the Joshua Bradley at Gee Cross.

Walk Marple 25/07/2018
Steve and Alison W. led a Wednesday evening walk from the Navigation pub at Marple. We went along the Peak Forest canal then over Marple ridge past the now refurbished Romper to join the Macclesfield - Marple canal back to Marple. Some went onto the Navigation pub for refreshments.

Walk Stanage 22/07/2018
Madeline led a walk from Hathersage along Stanage Edge 8.5 miles. The day started with drizzle in Stockport but as soon as we travelled over Winnats pass the weather changed and 19 SWOG members enjoyed a warm sunny summers day. Near the end of the walk we visited the church yard where lies Little Johns Grave. Then we all enjoyed refreshments.

Due to transport problems with Northern rail the Hawkshead brewery beer festival trip was cancelled.

Pub Night The Blossoms 20/07/2018
In a change to the published program 20:30hrs 20/07/2018, Paul and Pam D. hosted a pub night at the Blossoms pub on the main A6 road in Stockport . The Ukulele Band were playing loudly upstairs.

Walk Higher Poynton 18/07/2018
Peter H. led a Wednesday evening walk from Nelson pit car park E into Lyme Park S then W onto the North Cheshire Way onto the Marple-Macclesfield canal then N back to Nelson pit. Most then enjoyed a refreshing drink in the Boars Head beer garden. 25 members 3 others joined us later on a warm summers evening.

Walk Baslow, Curbar and Froggatt Edges 15/07/2018
Paul and Pam D. led a walk from Baslow car park (toilets and sweetshop) N onto Baslow, Curbar and Froggatt Edges, Grouse Inn , Longshaw Lodge (toilets and teashop). Then turning W then S Padley Gorge , Grindleford railway station (teashop ) at Nether Padley we followed the D V H Way (Derwent Valley Heritage Way ) back to Baslow 13 miles. 10 members enjoyed a hot sunny day.

Pub Night The Grove Ale House 13/07/2018
Phil W. cancelled his hosting of this. No one stepped in to do it. So only 4 members turned up . the beer was good and it was easy to sit down in the tiny Grove Ale House. This was Friday the 13th so maybe SWOG is superstitios.

Walk Eyam 12/07/2018
Chris H. led a Thursday walk from Eyam N past the YHA , Ladywash mine onto Sir William Hill Road. E then NE over Eyam Moor then W past Tor farm to Stoke Ford then SSW towards Bretton. SE then towards Eyam. Near Highcliff we saw some escaped piglets . Back to Eyam. 7 of us enjoyed a warm dry day.

Walk Lymm 01/07/2018
Jane W. led a walk from free car park at the centre of Lymm. Our Route took us along the Bridgewater canal to Dunham village then Dunham Massey Park where we saw Fallow Deer then ice creams and lunch then to Little Bollington then over fields towards Heatley then canal again turning off through Lymm return . ASome visited the Golden Fleece Pub .
