Walk Hayfield mulled wine 17/12/2017

In a change to the published program John G. led a walk (with mulled wine and mince pies) around Hayfield and then held court at the George pub in the village where other members joined us. Only 8 members braved a very rainy, and slippy day. Underfoot we struggled with layers of snow and ice. Harvey's Holmfirth walk will be done later.

Weekend Llangollen 08-10/12/2017

Paul and Pam D. organised a weekend at the independent hostel at Llangollen. Friday night some eat out, some eat in, some visited local pubs. Saturday some did a longer walk, some did a shorter walk to the Sun at Trevor, most had a Christmas dinner there. Saturday evening most did the steam booze train, later some did pubs with bands some stayed in. Sunday very heavy snow curtailed plans with many roads closed. After police advice about snow ploughs, gritters and lorry movements, some made a careful slow exit along the A5 some decided to stay another day.
